Darn Bugs

JJ scratched himself and then got bit by skeeters which made his eye swell up and now it looks like he got into a brawl!

Weekend Fun

Another Day

My serious baby...she does accept the pacifier now, but always, but most of the time.
Maddie fell alseep with her head resting on my hand. She is sooo sweet! Her little "I'm hungry" cry is the sweetest thing I have ever heard. She is such a little girly girl!
Dancing to Blue's Clues. And if you'll notice he is VERY dirty. We went to Chuck E. Cheese today and he ate pizza, played forever, and ate chocolate cake with his hands and then came home and found the markers with which he drew all over himself!

Here is clean JJ later in the evening wearing mommy's sunglasses running around the house butt naked. I did try to cut out the entire nakedness but you get the point!

You've Got to Read This!

Yesterday afternoon JJ was watching his new favorite TV show, Blue's Clues, while I was on the phone. I noticed him getting REALLY close to the TV so I paid closer attention to what he was doing. Sorry I don't have a picture to prove what happened next. I laughed so hard I cried! JJ was licking the TV screen!!!! After I watched him do it again I realized I should watch what is actually on the TV and there is an ice cream cone that he is "licking." Mind you JJ doesn't like ice cream so I am trying to figure out what possessed him to do this. I guess kids do the darndest things!

Other than that we have been a pretty uneventful bunch. Just hanging out in the backyard with the kiddie pool, blowing bubbles and drawing on the patio with sidewalk chalk. JJ is down to just Thursday's for speech/occupational therapy now so we have extra time on our hands at home. The base pool opens up after Memorial Day so hopefully we can spend a day there when it opens up!

Hopscotch 101

Yesterday I taught JJ how to play hopscotch. Well, at least jump on the squares numbered 1-10. Yes, JJ can count to 5 all by himself and to 10 with help! It is totally awesome. When Kristin was here, JJ was sitting on the couch and out of the blue said one, two, free, four, five! And then repeated himself without being prompted. Kris and I looked at each other like did he just do that??? So now it is a daily occurrence that JJ count to at least five. He can also point out the numbers when he sees them. But he confuses the 6 and 9. But, hey, at 2 years old who wouldn't???

Last night we moved the crib to our room and Maddie started sleeping there. We figured since the bedroom is so big it wouldn't be a big deal. I still need to find a bumper for her so she doesn't hit the wood.

Fun Visit

My friend, Kristin, was in town for 6 days and left yesterday. We had a blast! The weather was not very cooperative. It seems like everytime someone from Michigan comes down, the weather turns to mush here. We did get a little shopping in and went to the zoo on Monday. That was pretty fun. JJ absolutely loved the petting zoo.

I don't know when, but I can tell you where

We are going next! John says that he his 99.9% sure we are going to McConnell AFB, Wichita, Kansas. Nobody else in his class wants the KC-135 but John, sooooo John gets that airframe!

JJ's New Fave Book

Thanks to the Wiz kids(my cousins and of course Uncle Brian and Aunt Amy), JJ's new favorite book is called
The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and The Big Hungry Bear by Don Wood. It was actually a Christmas present he has just gotten in to. We have read it exactly four times before bed every night this week. It is the first story he has actually sat and listened too! Thanks guys!

Holding Baby Sister

JJ finally decided to hold Maddie the other day! I took her in for her 2 week baby well check up this morning and she weighs 9lbs 1oz and is 20.5in long. So she is definitely growing! As my grandma put this morning, I make a good cow!

So after a very eventful(stressful) morning at Target, the pictures were taken. I didn't have them upload them online as it costs me money, so I took their pictures today at home for all to see!

Sorry, there are none in this post, but we are headed to Target this morning to try out their Portrait Studio. We have only ever used Sears Portrait Studio, but they have taken away their wonderful military discount so I am venturing to a new studio! Hopefully the results will be decent and you will be able to see them soon!

Sleeping

Have I mentioned Madeline is a great sleeper? She is going on hour number 4 and I have moved her from my room to the swing downstairs and she is still asleep!

When Maddie gets that paci in her mouth she sucks on it with all her might! She almost always has to hold on to it too!

Here is a pic of JJ when he was just a couple of days old. I was thinking they look a lot alike but I can definitely tell the difference. But they sure do have a lot of the same features!

Madeline was born on April 9, 2007 at 2:51pm.
She weighed 8lbs 8oz and was 20in long!
Everything went really well, minus the part where daddy passed out during the epidural and went to the ER!

Will be pictures of the new baby!!! I couldn't sleep this morning(as with every other morning this past week) so I got up at 4 and here I am. We have to be at the hospital at 6am soooo I just thought I would write one last time before I am a mommy of two! We are headed to Northeast Baptist Hospital. They do have a web nursery but I am not sure how fast they post pics of the new babies.

Busy Weekend

Here are some pictures of this busy weekend! We had a little get together for JJ's 2nd birthday. G and her family came over and John's step-brother was in town with his kids so they came as well. We had a cookout, but too bad the temp was in the 30's and we had to stay inside! And yesterday we went to church for Easter and then had dinner at some friend's house with an Easter egg hunt to follow! The boys loved finding the eggs!

Friends...

I just have to say I *love* hearing from old friends. I got an email earlier this week from a friend, B, who I haven't had contact with in over a year! It makes me think about all the fun times I had in GF with the bunch up there! I miss you all!

Baby will be here soon!

At my doctor's appointment yesterday I was almost 4cm. She thinks it should be any day now, but if I don't have the baby by Monday she is going to break my water and send me into labor! Yikes!

Who is a Big Boy now?

JJ is officially 2! John came home from work early yesterday to take us out to dinner. We decided to go somewhere fun for JJ. So we ended up at a place called Mr. Gatti's. It is a pizza place that has games. You get tickets for playing them and then get to pick out your prizes. JJ had a blast!
